Welcome to PAP Paramotors UK
PAP and us
As Paraventure Airsports, we have been importing PAP paramotors for the UK market since 2002. We have been flying and living with PAP designs for a long time now and are very happy with what this particular manufacture offers. The PAP designs are without doubt the most copied in the World and for good reason. PAP have been making paramotors for a very long time and know what they are doing. PAP paramotors fit all of the recommendations that we have stated for the last 15 years. Most of the top 10 placed competitors in the world championships for the last 7 years were using PAP paramotors as will probably be the case again this year. As UK importers of these excellent products, we are here to help and advise the customer and are delighted to be recommended and supported by PAP to represent them here in the UK.
About PAP Paramotors
PAP was founded by Pierre Aubert, who by the end of 1989 had designed and built his first paramotor. Currently based on 4 different engines options, there are a number of variants available. Engines used at the moment are the Miniplane Top 80, the Vittorazi Fly 100 Evo, the Ros125 and FlyEngine F200. This choice provides a complete range of paramotors. Always an innovator, Pierre was the the first to make a paramotor chassis with low point attachment for the glider and is responsible for designing the "Active System" of glider attachment now in use on all PAP models The idea was to design a system that would preserve intact the qualities a paraglider has in free flight. It was not an easy task but the result speaks for itself. You will find while flying a PAP that you will not feel the torque (in level flight) of the engine and can even forget that you have a engine on your back. On launch this system still works the same way avoiding the wing veering off at an angle which is commonly seen with fixed attachment points. Free in your movements you can fly with your body and do all the regular maneuvers as in free flight. With the low point "Active System" attachments the glider transmits to the pilot all the movements of the air, which enable you to anticipate and react safely. The frame is constructed of highly polished stainless steel and offers advantages over fibre glass or aluminum, that during a poor take off or landing, if damaged the frame can normally be reshaped without a problem, but an aluminum one would probably have to be changed.
The design of the chassis offers unparalleled protection for the propeller. Apart from that, the steel ages without a wrinkle and maintains an impeccable finish. The harness from Sup'Air is designed specifically for the PAP and is fitted as standard with a seat extension, 3 automatic buckles, emergency parachute fixing points and two storage pockets for small items. A provision is made on the chassis for an emergency parachute behind the pilots head. The parachute container is supplied as standard and we can quote for an emergency parachute to suit your requirements. The harness is configured to allow the use of the paragliders accelerator system. The back of the harness has 2 layers of cellular foam of 10mm and 40mm which assure your comfort during flight. The maillons for attachment for the glider are of the double action safety "Twistloc" variety. All PAP paramotors except the F200 are supplied with a boot fixed foot starter, so that you have the option of stopping and restarting the engine in flight without the added weight of an electric starter. Air starting is incredibly easy and reliable with this system.
The choice of 2,3 or 4 part cages
The standard frame for all the PAP paramotors is the original 2 part that splits in half horizontally and is the cheapest option. If you don't need a paramotor that breaks down to a small size, this is the frame type for you. If you have a small car or storage is a problem, go for the 3 part frame. This splits the cage vertically into 2 parts leaving the chassis (3 parts in total). If you want to travel on aeroplanes with your paramotor, the 4 part frame is want you are looking for. The cage splits into equal pieces of 3 and the whole lot fits neatly into a square heavy duty travel case. This is the most expensive option offered by PAP but is excellently designed.
A Warning
PAP paramotors are now without doubt the most copied designs on the planet. Do not confuse with the real thing; cheap copies can never be built to PAP's exacting standards. We are not saying all these copies are bad; some are actually quite nicely done and duplication is the most sincere form of flattery
but PAP still are the original. You can buy similar but we doubt you can buy better. You should also bare this in mind when you come to sell your paramotor; PAP have the highest resale values in the secondhand market which you would have noticed if you've seen any for sale. All of these facts above place PAP firmly in the very top of the current manufacturers and is the reason that paramotor pilots the world over choose to fly our machines.
